Leo Roget has today signed for Rushden & Diamonds following his release from Braintree Town.
Leo will be no stranger to Diamonds fans, having played 17 games for the Diamonds in 2004. The 31 year old Defender started off as a trainee with Southend United, making over 130 appearances during 6 years at Roots Hall. Signing for Stockport County in 2001, he then went on loan to Reading, being released at the end of the season to join Brentford. He then went on to join Rushden & Diamonds in January 2004 for the latter part of the season. After being released by Ernie Tippet, Roget went on to sign for Oxford United, later playing for St Albans City and Harlow Town. In July 2008 Leo had a trial at Gillingham and almost secured a return to League Football. However the deal didn't go through and he subsequently joined Conference South Braintree Town.
Roget only signed for Braintree on 7th November 2008 but was released today following the news that Lee Patterson, 'The Iron's' Manager would be stepping down from his role.
We would like to welcome Leo to Nene Park once again who will take squad number 16.
